12 - Ulan-Ude

This is a charming establishment in Ulan-Ude, featuring an intriguing concept and a breathtaking panoramic view.

Time has passed, and the quality has declined to that of a local pub—if anyone remembers those days. We visited to celebrate a small work event, but the experience didn't quite meet expectations. The staff seemed to draw on old training out of habit, but unfortunately, the quality just isn't there anymore. While the waiters were cheerful and made an effort, the charm of the place is a thing of the past. They served our dishes with sauces in small cups, which took me back to 1989. It feels like the standards from the Soviet era linger on, but no one seems interested in upholding them anymore. Overall, the evening wasn’t ruined, which is worth noting, but when you anticipate listening to a brass band and instead are treated to Europe Plus playing on a cassette, it just doesn’t hit the mark! It's quite disappointing...

Great place to see the depth of the city. The restaurant turns around so that you always get a new view. A wide selection of local Buryat cuisines and a decent offer of cocktails. Come and watch the sunset here and it will add an unforgettable marker to your visit to Ulan Ude.
