Bidrage med feedbackThe food was delicious and the restaurant is conveniently located, although parking can be difficult to find in the Streetsville area. I visited with three friends on a Tuesday night at 7pm.
The restaurant was mediocre, not great but also not terrible. The atmosphere was cozy and the waitress was friendly. The pizza and house wine were both good, but overall the experience was just okay.
I can't believe I didn't order pizza from a pizza place or an Italian restaurant with 'pizza' in the name.
Being a little concerned about some of the quite negative reviews, I suppose our expectations for a Saturday evening dinner were quite modest for this spot in our neighbourhood. That said, we liked the range of appetizers and mains we read about on the website menu and decided to give this place a try.First impressions were good, a warm welcome and seated promptly and appropriately. We decided to sit indoors as a cool evening was expected but the patio, with the interesting gas-fired heaters, we feel would beckon on another occasion. Some in our small party ordered from the pizza side of the menu while others favoured the traditional pasta fare. Our server quickly and thoroughly answered our questions and suggested a perfect alternative sauce for one member. The wine selection is quite good and not ridiculously priced and we enjoyed both a pleasant white and a robust red.The breads, along with the dipping plate arrived quickly and it was clear that the bread was freshly out of an oven . . . . hot, hot, hot. As our meals arrived I was surprised that Parmesan wasn't offered for those with a pasta dish — but had to be asked for. I realize that my Tagliatelle with mushrooms, in Italy, never ever sees Parmesan cheese as it can overpower the dish. However my taste buds can stand it. When it came it was not grated at the table but rather served in a small stainless bowl. Makes sense, but interestingly none was offered to complement a marinara sauced dish. Our server kept water glasses topped up and ensured that everyone was happy with their selection. We were! Our Saturday evening dinner came to a close with excellent coffee. All in all and very pleasant experience and we would certainly return. A quiet spot? Certainly not on this Saturday evening. Not so much the conversations flowing around but the somewhat intrusive level of the 'faux Italian' background music. Easy listening but a little too loud for those at our table.Washrooms are on the main floor but seem to recall a few steps to reach the level where they are located. There may be others, but not seen. A return visit? Definitely and next time perhaps on the patio.
Had a meal with family. Ordered the first salad with aragula, and it had a very flavourless dressing and few tomatoes, onions and pieces of mandarin. Not up to a fair standard. My wood oven pizza was merely adequate, and my wife's pasta was undercooked with the noodles clearly not separated in the kitchen. Service was ok. Have to pay $5 to get bread with pasta. Overpriced for what quality is offered.
