Bidrage med feedbackWe were visiting Toronto and had a dinner date with my brother and his wife who had recently celebrated a milestone birthday that I missed. My brother is strictly kosher and he knows the restaurants in Toronto better than I, so he chose Bistro Grande. It's a nice place. Parking is a challenge but we did find street parking nearby. It's an older place, been around a long time. But for a Tuesday night it was busy. Our server Janet was delightful, friendly and energetic. The menu was nice. Dairy and fish with plenty of options available. My wife and I shared a Fatoush salad and I had the Halibut Puttanesca. Finished with a molten chocolate cake and some wine with our meal and we got to enjoy a leisurely dinner, with great family for company and good food. Definitely a future option on a return visit when you need a good Kosher place to eat!
Our Jewish friend visiting from Israel visited this restaurant a week ago and was very disappointed in the food and shocked by the high prices. We planned to bring her to another restaurant selling kosher food but the two other places on Eglinton Ave W were unexpectedly closed and since we had no time to drive to another area, we had no choice but to go to Bistro Grande and our own experience there today confirmed my friend's negative assessment of the food and service. Though the environment is nice and quiet, the food was expensive for what we got. I paid $28 for a 11 inch pizza that had very few toppings and not much taste.
While visiting Toronto we visited Bistro Grande twice. Excellent food, excellent service especially from our waitress Janet We highly recommend this restaurant if you want to enjoy excellent foodl
Lovely food, fantastic service, very expensive. We had a lovely meal here but were shocked how expensive it was. Restaurant is lovely and staff and service brilliant. Food is great and worth a try
For weekend brunch, we were in a private party room at 12:30. Much better than expected, Bistro Grande was quiet, accessible, and offered a range of seafood and Italian-inspired options: pasta, pizza, panini is best. Everything was supersized and fresh fresh fresh! I would return for the giant shakshuka /omelette and fruit with Israeli style salad. I don’t know if a birthday cake from Baskin Robbins next door would be allowed, but house /Tiramisu or chocolate cheese cake plus tri-colour icecream with cappuccino were excellent. Moist bread with hummus butter was a nice touch. Soup sides were plentiful, and each person’s main was big enough to split and share. I highly recommend the BBQ cauliflower platter. Gluten-free and vegetarian options were available, besides goat cheese or else dairy. Pre booking is helpful, since groups may warrant extra staff and settings on board. The service was meticulous, and we found pay parking in front, as also, across the street near the Scotiabank. Beyond the front door (under black awning from clear laminate thruways to handpulls in the washroom (with a change table beside highchairs this place was accessibly ideal for families and seniors. Benches and booths as well as fine dining tables offer flexible seating. Being in the vicinity of the so-called “Golden Ghetto,” restaurants are kosher and not open over Sabbath (Friday-Sat. , but healthy meals are served all day Sunday.
