Swiss Chalet - Thunder Bay

This location is pretty hit or miss. The vegetables are always under cooked so just avoid them. The skin is often under cooked, fatty, and not crisp at all which is a huge disappointment because that is the best part. And I'm writing this review because today my Canuck burger had no bbq sauce or coleslaw on it for some reason. Love the options for people with dietary restriction but you could really step it up. Maybe hire better kitchen staff.

Great Swiss Chalet chicken with an abundance of hot fries and all the rest. Excellent service from our primary server. Staff were busy but attentive. A newer facility so everything sparkled. This visit did not earn five stars due to the secondary server forgetting to provide a glass of water until the primary server hearing about it from us which she then immediately addressed. And added an extra bowl of dipping sauce. One other disappointment was that the servers did not engage us through our visit Still I would revisit again in a minute.

We were visiting from out of province and were very excited to go here as there is no location where we live. Our server was fine, it was the manager on duty that was rude. We got our chicken and 2 plates had pink inside the chicken and it looked gross. She actually came over to try to tell us it looks like that from the cooking! I’ve eaten at many Swiss chalets in my time and I’ve never had pink chicken! She was incredibly rude and even charged us for the fries my husband ate even though he said he didn’t want the chicken replaced. We’ll never make the mistake of coming here again! The dining room was dead and it still took 45 mins to get our food. Big waste of time.

We ordered takeout from here. Pickup time was for 7pm. Wasn’t busy but I waited around until 7:28 for our order. Get home and realize they’ve left the dinner rolls out of our meal too. First and last time ordering takeout here.

Great server at very beginning. Order my meal, wings. It was supposed to come with carrots and ranch. I did not order another side for this specific reason. Wings came, so did the ranch. No carrots. Upon asking, she giggled and said they're out of carrots. No apology, no substitution offered, no discount. Fine. GotchaHead to the bathroom, the toilet paper is on the ground touching the heater. Granted it may be off, but who wants to wiped with toilet paper on the floor. Same in men's bathroom apparently. Food tasted good but this makes me not want to come back
