La Brasserie Genevoise - Thônex

For a change we went to the Brasserie genevoise for lunch after visiting the Rive Saturday open market. The interior decoration is bland, there is little atmosphere and the acoustics are terrible. But food wise we were pleasantly surprised. A great steak tartare (cut with...the knife, and I was offered a tasting to see whether spicyness was to my liking), and the menu du jour (huge salad as a starter and then chicken skewers with vegetables and french fries) was a bargain for

We had a very nice dinner tasting the entrecôte and a dessert. The food was good and the service was great. Overall nothing spectacular about this place but also nothing that went wrong, so if you are looking for a solid dinner this can be...a good option

Always full have been there for lunch on several occasions, highly recommend the shellfish they have every type and oysters are superb, tables quite close together so not intimate with your guest but otherwise excellent.

I eat quite regularly there for lunch and appreciate the nice and tasty specials. It was the first time I tried the place for dinner and was much less impressed. Products are still very good but the whole service lacks in sophistication. Starters are quite...disappointing and sides of the (very good) meat dishes are minimalist. Service was also not impressing. Better go there for a lively lunch without too many expectations.

Had a lovely night in a simple friendly atmosphere. Salad starters are fresh and delicious (big enough to share) slot of choice in the mains. We had a pasta and a steak on ardoise which was really delicious. Will definitely return!
