Never disappointed by the food, great service and they have all covid safe exercises at place and place (social distancing, sanitiser etc). had the calamari and fish cocktails and enjoyed both so much! also the sweet potato scallops are great and made in the shop! recommend a visit...100%

The service at this restaurant is friendly and efficient. The snapper was cooked to perfection and had a delicious flavor. The calamari rings were also well-prepared and tasty. However, the positive experience ended there. The chips were terrible - not crispy at all and seemed to have old oil. The tartar sauce was also disappointing, with an artificial taste and strong vinegar flavor. As a fish and chip shop, they need to ensure both components are done well, not just one.

We had big fish and chips in our travels, but unfortunately this was not one of them. so disappointing because the grass area in front of the thirroul beach was ideal for a picnic at such a beautiful day. the fish and chips were so, so...but... the kartoffelskallopen (we ordered calamai, yes, they also have the order wrong! were sincerely unusable. we had at windsor nsw already a few times absolutely fantastic fish and chips, and they are not where they are near the sea, so go figure! I recognize some of the better reviews here, but unfortunately we will not return for a second portion.

Tried a over rated reviewed fish and chip shops in the area and was highly disappointed. Thought I would give Jolly Roger a go. Was definitely not disappointed, fish was so flavoursome, calamari and chips so tasty . Salad great. My only concern was...that the sale was over dressed, too much dressing, but still great, perhaps some feta would of been nice as an implement. Also the Tartar sauce is too commercial and Tangy. Suggest using a more homemade Tartar would be great. Apart from those issues, I 100 recommend Jolly Roger.
