Bidrage med feedbackI'm not sure why this place has high ratings. I'm sorry to say the food was disgusting. The soup was extremely oily and salty, the plantains were burnt and hard and the rice was old and crispy. Mac and cheese was just salt noodles with a layer of cheese on top. For the first time ever me and my husband just threw the food away and walked out. On top of that we were the only customers and it took a long time to get the food. Everyone was too busy chatting instead of focusing on serving fresh food and having great customer service. Management, you have to do better.
Sleep will find you after you eat all that good food.
Way too slow they should not say 20 minutes when it’s going to be over 40 minutes. Waiting with a hungry child. Frustrating. Food was very good though, once we got it.
I love Caribbean Soul whenever I'm in Saint Augustine. I always try to visit because everyone there feels like family to me. Today, I had the pleasure of meeting the owner's mother and daughters, and I enjoyed engaging in conversations with some of the guests. The food was amazing; I had the curry shrimp, and it was delicious! A few weeks ago, while I was dining there, I struck up a conversation with the chef. I told him how much I admired his Kangol hat, something I hadn't seen in a long time. To my surprise, he took off the hat and gave it to me! I insisted on paying for it, but he told me I could keep it. Such awesome and beautiful people! And I can't forget to mention how tasty the dishes are. I also love the blend of Kenyan coffee in the mornings. While I haven't tried the coffee yet, I did purchase some African artifacts. I’ll have to make an effort to visit early one morning since I'm coming from Jacksonville, Florida.
Traveling through the area and found this place on Google. We love jerk chicken, fried plantains, beans and rice, etc., so we decided to try it. Ordered take-out jerk chicken sandwich with fries and jerk chicken plate with fried plantains and beans and rice. I can 't think of anything good to say about the food, except the jerk seasoning was good, similar to what we had in Jamaica. Downhill from there. Fried plantain was mushy and swimming in grease. Beans and rice were dry and crunchy , like the rice was not fully cooked or was dried from sitting out? Chicken pieces, except for a mini drumstick, we 're unidentifiable, maybe a back cut in pieces due to bone fragments. Jerk sandwich, which was shredded chicken, had good flavor, but was so full of bone chunks and gristle you could not eat as a sandwich, b/c you had to pick out the bone parts. French fries were totally soggy with grease, which tasted very old and nasty. The dirty, greasy front door should have clued me in and sent me running, but the very nice, friendly, hostess who took our takeout order gave me false hope. Very poor quality food. Waste of $28 on this lunch.
