The Lemon Plaice - Test Valley

We visited this restaurant for the first time tonight and tried the haddock and chips. It was delicious, hot, and reasonably priced. We definitely plan on coming back. Highly recommended.

I had a fantastic lunch of fish and chips yesterday. The fish was fried fresh to order and since it was small, we received extra pieces. The batter was amazing, the fish was excellent, and the portion of chips was generous. Unfortunately, by the time we got home, the chips were too soggy to eat. Overall, it was a lovely local discovery.

The Lemon Plaice is a spacious takeout restaurant that offers a typical fish and chips menu (with a few sausage and chicken options as well). I enjoyed a delicious piece of freshly cooked haddock and the chips were tasty. The staff did not wear masks while preparing food. One minor drawback is the limited selection of Coca-Cola soft drinks. There is no available seating or tables.

The girl could hear my order, but i added... can i have a gherkin, and she didnt understand, I said it times before she just walked off and served someone else, the other girl continued my order and i got served, I stood outside...for a moment after leaving and the first girl was talking and laughing with another customer about me and my gherkin, talk about feeling like the pi was taken out of me.

I love this chippy. They serve great fish and chips, scampi and pies plus mushy peas and now take debit cards. They also follow all the Covid guidelines and the staff are always polite and helpful. Fish is freshly cooked and the portion sizes are...generous. The batter is gorgeous and crispy. Car parking outside the shop and across the road. Five customers arrived within the five minutes I waited to be served because the food is hot and delicious!
