This place is a revelation. You can tell the reception is a Phoenix of The Hanover fire, but the greeting was very pleasant and the staff very friendly. Indeed, wanting to go to the cinema after, the lady chef took our food order before we came, and it was served promptly, even though we arrived early. The waiter was friendly and prompt. The food was lovely and of a very high standard, with a wide choice of starters and mains, plus specials. We didn't have room for deserts, which has a good variety. We were in the upstairs eatery, featuring beams and architecture seeming to date back to the 18th century. Anyway, wanting a quiet and cosy meal with no hassle, this was excellent. We'll happily go again and will recommend to family and friends. Thank you.
Had some nice ale, and a very good lunch I had the fish and chips very nice and my wife had the fish pie very taste looking forward to going back soon, staff very helpful.
I spent more than a few minutes up and down Church Street looking for this place. Does it still exist?
For starters, I had the halloumi while two of my friends shared a baked Camembert, both of which were delicious. We all opted for the Kiev for our main course, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The portion sizes were generous and we were too full to try any desserts. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be returning in the future.
