Sea Bass - Taunton Deane

I don't understand why there are negative reviews because this chippy is lovely. The staff is great and the burgers are delicious with generous portion sizes. I appreciate that it's conveniently located near my doorstep.

We rarely eat fast food but here we are happy to buy fish gluten free for me it is tasty I love this coating I recommend

Stumbled on this place whilst visiting Taunton wasn't disappointed. Clean on the inside, pre ordered en route food was ready for collection on arrival Everything tasted fresh, fish was huge, plenty of chips but the kebab tasted amazing so fresh really enjoyed it. Would definitely return if we were in the area

I cannot fault the cleanliness or choice of food, however, what I can fault is the poor quality and presentation of their food. I had a cheeseburger, the worst that I have ever had in my life, the burger was tasteless, the roll was far too large, the cheese slice far too small, I couldn't even taste or see much of the relish. The chips didn't fair better as they were all squashed together making them look like cricket balls, stuck together and out of shape. Whilst their choice of food is huge, I did hear someone say early on in the evening on a busy weekend night that they had ran out of beef onion pies!!! Never again for me!

I visited this fish chip shop whilst staying locally ordered haddock chips from the stern young lady on the till, who seemed very unfriendly towards me as she told me I would have to wait as the fish needs to be cooked, I was fine with that prefer freshly cooked food anyway, so I sat down looked at their menu on the wall which is very extensive including a wide range of delicious sounding burgers, fried chicken, kebabs as well as the standard chip shop items, including gluten free batter, I also saw several lunchtime good meal deals what sounded very reasonable in price. Several people came in and made their orders which were dealt with instantly, which is great news to me as some chip shops make you wait in line even if your order is just for chips which is a ridiculous system, sadly I kept hearing the chips being scrapped scrapped with no fresh ones being cooked, i thought I would be lucky but no, when I heard my haddock was ready I got every last chip bit that was inside the unit, but the fish that went on top looked large tasty, so I couldn't wait to get back to the car start eating rather than wait to go back to my hotel room risk it getting stuck to the paper, even though I chose not to have any salt vinegar put on. There was a lot of oil when I opened the package with a strange aroma in the air,, my fish was broken on top as the batter wasn't crispy except at one end, the soggy underneath just resembled thick rubbery very greasy jelly, not nice as it just all broke apart, but neither were the chips as most of them were just small hard cold bits, very disappointing for the price paid.
