Goldbar Restaurant. Tandag, Surigao Del Sur

Food was very great! Pancit Guisado and Halo-Halo was the best I tasted around the vicinity. Hope I can comeback! Hotel was nice too! Felt like I am just at home!

We booked a deluxe twin room that included breakfast. While it may not be as luxurious as you might expect from a 3 or 5-star hotel, it still feels comfortable and homey. The food offered is quite satisfying and offers great value for the price. Update: They surprised us with a complimentary delicious lunch before our checkout, and we’re not sure what we did to deserve such kindness.

Indeed, this place is a true gem! From the guard to the receptionist, the staff is knowledgeable and truly excels at assisting their guests, especially compared to other locations we've visited in Mindanao. The rooms are relaxing, spacious, and spotlessly clean—definitely a big plus! If you ever get the chance to visit Tandag, this is the best place to stay. Right across the street is a very convenient store called MCLY Minimart, where the owner is exceptionally friendly. Everyone there is so approachable that you won't feel like you're in a different place at all.

The restaurant has a charming atmosphere, reminiscent of a renovated old house with a modern touch. There is also a new building that houses function rooms and guest rooms, which I didn't have the chance to explore. We visited for dinner and were pleasantly surprised by how well the staff managed to accommodate us, even with the large number of diners. I highly recommend the pancit guisado, and the rice platter was very generous in size. Unfortunately, the crispy pata was served after we finished our meal, as we were quite hungry at the time. Don't miss out on trying their halo-halo!
