Shunka Japanese - Taiping

Delicious food. excellent service..damaging atmosphere. the top stars all over.

Fried squid is most recommended as an appetizer, while the uji matcha with mochi is most likely the best dessert I could suggest. The sweetness in red beans and honey on mochi along with bitterness in matcha is so well balanced. On the other hand, for main course, their ramen is quite tasty but the portion is a little too large for me. Overall their food is very satisfying but the friendliness, efficiency, and attitude while answering guests' queries are quite far from excellent. There are huge rooms of improvement on their customer service quality of waiting staff.

Variety of Japanese food in here but too little choice of sushi. You will find their menu is thick like a text book. After you have ordered your food, you are expected to be wait at least 20 to 30 minutes to be served.

I tried their branch in Aman Suria feel the taste quality at this branch is better. Nice environment ambience. However, pricing on the high side considering f b pricing in Taiping town. If you seriously need a Japanese fix, you can pop over to this restaurant.

Food was somewhat quite good considering the restaurant being in a small town. Environment was nice and a great place for gathering and hang out. But the price was quite overrated. A 2-person meal could end up at 50 and above, which is expensive in the town with low living expenses.
