Great location, good menu at the right price, best flight in cold days in the mountains, easy to reach over a beautiful walk on the hill

The castle is very impressive from the surrounding area. If you go to the castle, take about 20 minutes. In the castle itself, this is nothing special to see, there are small beautiful museum, but since all explanations were given in German, we could not benefit from the guide. There are also small garden with beautiful view and a restaurant, but all this.. (our rating is for the castle, not the restaurant..

After staying in the nearby Pen (Cloister) St. Georgen, it was logical that we would visit this famous castle. High above on a rocky outcropping and supposedly used as inspiration for Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle, this medieval fortress really has a fairy tale feeling about it. Visitors go up through numerous gates until finally the main castle and the chapel reaches the top. An elevator is also available for those who cannot walk. But they miss the enormous defense that the castle had in the form of all gates. All proceeds from the ticket sale go towards the preservation and storage of the castle. It seems that the government does not support the owners of such cultural treasures or helps to preserve these treasures.
