Guilfoil's Irish Pub - Syracuse

Great place for strong drinks and high quality food. The owner is top notch and you will not leave without cracking a few smiles. I look forward to stopping during my next trip to Syracuse.

I'm writing this for a bad review. First, it's a quarter bar. Some may call it a dipping bar, and if you are the type of person who understands how neighborhood bars work, then you know that you want certain things from this bar. Guilfoil is a jewel. You go in and find a place. You wait at the bar and maybe it takes a few minutes. You pay money because the money saves. The beer is cold and cheap, the whisky pours generous and cheap, the food is delicious and cheap. The Jukebox plays the greatest variety of music and nobody complains when you play your favorite song. There are sports on the TVs, and maybe a dog at your feet looking for a treat. Just like an Irish pub. If you have traveled, either in the USA or Ireland, you know that the Irish pub is a refuge, but not for the Persnickety. It is at his own time, and at his own place. You're adapting to the Irish pub because you know it should be. I go to Guilfoil’s because they are happy to offer this short answer from the rat races. It's a slow step, but that's what I want when I'm here. People are friendly if you really talk to them and who could ever want more from a pub?

Awesome atmosphere! Great food and drinks! We will make sure to come back here everytime we are in Syracuse!

We visited about 2pm to good reviews. We were greeted after being there for almost 10 minutes and taking a random seat. The bartender lady was nice after she noticed us.We came just for the food not the bar. We got some wings and I got a burger. The burger was nothing good and it was dry and a bit tasteless, as was the rest of the food, neither me or my wife finished. Then we were told after we ate they don't take any cards, which we do not carry cash very often, we had to use the atm in the corner and pay a fee, which sucked. We wish we had known beforehand. Would not come back.
