Extremely kind and attentive service and simply fantastic food. The kimchi is superb and you'll leave needing no other meal for the day. Budae Jjigae is what's featured in the picture with added cheese and ramen.
It was very good overall. Service was excellent, although budaejjigae could've been better as it tasted a bit more kimchi jjigae than budae. Will definitely be back though.Food: 4/5
I had never heard of Budaejjigae until coming to this restaurant although now Eric Kim has a great video about it! and my first experience trying it here was fantastic. It's family owned; Jenny our server and her family were so sweet and patient with me and my other uncultured friends ?? . I highly recommend adding cheese and ramen to your budaejjigae. We chose to eat it family style, but they have individual sets as well. I recommend family style, since that is more fun.The inside is lovely, and prices are fair. As some other reviews mentioned, extras cost a little extra I don't think this is any reason to deduct stars, not everyone would opt for cheese, tofu, or noodles in their Budaejjigae, and if you go with a group these extras are well worth the price. I paid $7 for a latte yesterday so yes I will happily pay $2 for some cheese on my absolute banger of a Korean stew.Great spot to bring a group and get some great, authentic Korean food OTP!
Based on my personal experience, from eating here, The food here was bad. Coming from a korean person who knows how budaejjigae should taste or would taste like I think it tasted more like a watered down kimchi stew 김치찌개 and did not offer a more traditional budaejjigae taste. not even that though, it was more like the restaurant knew that they were lacking flavour so they hid it by making the stew spicy. The stew itself came with the bare minimum that should be offered. I agree with the other person who reviewed here about the side piece such as sausages, noodle, cheese being set to ridiculous prices. and to be honest The other reviewee who said that they should not have docked the stars for that have no say and should not have not even said that because it is their own opinion. The pictures posted on the wall and outside the restaurant look nothing like what you recieve. I understand that this is a family business, but I think it is best to take critique and try to learn from peoples experiences rather than try to discredit it. The experience I had here was not so good but it seems like other people had a great time...
This was my first time trying Budaejjigae. Surprisingly the saltiness and fat of the processed meat paired very well with the broth and noodles. It was very good!
