Johnny D's Waffles And Benedicts, Surfside Beach

To start with, the churro French toast was SO GOOD. Easily the best thing we had there. That challah bread was amazing. The chicken and waffle was ok, just not memorable, could've used some more seasoning or something. Service was incredible. Our waitress was so great. Here's why I can't rate this higher though... it's SO expensive. 2 thick pieces of French toast was like $15, no sides. Chicken and waffle was $18, no sides. We ordered a side of home fries and it was $4, and also undercooked and totally bland. Some pieces were still crunchy and starchy. We did send them back and have them cooked more, but they came back still undercooked. At that point we were nearly done with our main dishes so we just gave up. Just had higher expectations for a place that charges so much I guess. It left us feeling letdown. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3

We come to this restaurant everytime we visit the beach. Today was the last time we will grace their doors. We were sitting and waiting for about twenty minutes for a table to come available. A party of twelve walked in. They moved chairs from other tables to make room for this large group. We ask why they seating a party of twelve before two and she said because they have room. WTH??? You have room for 12 but not 2? Sorry Johnny D. You just can’t do that and expect southerners to be ok with it Service: 1

Have never had a bad thing here! The brisket skillet is delicious! Service is always great. Everyone helps each other out to provide excellent service.
