Good menu, reasonable good service, but the meals were a real joy. the fish was very fresh, must have thrown on the plate, good size served. will return.

I will never return to this restaurant, but unfortunately I did and regret it. The food was terrible - my prawns were undercooked, the lamb was flavorless, and the fish and chips were very average. It seemed like the restaurant had given up trying. The waitress was uninterested and annoying, as if she was only there because she had to be. We brought my elderly father, who is in his 80s and whose wife is in the hospital, and she treated him poorly. When he asked for some ice for his dessert, she rudely told him it was not available separately. When I asked for ice cream for my child, she brought it out in a tub without a plate and just threw it on the table. The service was extremely unprofessional and I would not recommend this place.

Waiting for an hour until our meal is served, the smoke brisket board hardly came warm to not mention very dry would not recommend. the waitress has let know that the problem received a courteous apology returned most of the meal

Terrific Melbourne Cup Lunch at The Gate Bar and Bistro in Success near The Gateway Shopping Centre with outstanding meal and huge prawns together with many hot dishes and as many cold dishes and a Head Chef to charm The World. Entertainment in the Garden...Bar and in the Bistro hosted and MC'd by Owner David's talented Son Michael with the michrophone managed the event splendidly and with aplomb. Both sites were fully booked but it is the way that The Gate Staff do things that make it such a polular and value venue. No expense spared with the food offer and a great enjoyable day had by all. I am sure there are some sore heads this morning, the day after!! Well done Michael and Staff and a BIG thank you. See you all again in 2022?
