Bidrage med feedbackWent in wanting a light bite and coffee, was told no Paninis but Anti Pasti was like a panini but better. 5 of us had 2 small bits of bread each then some stale meats and some rough looking cheese and charged us about 25 Euros each for the pleasure. Felt like I had been robbed paying the bill. Left 90% of the food, probably got re-used.
Guy pushed us to by antipasti and sent us what could only be described as out of date meats and cheese that you wouldn’t feed a dog. Then charged us 112 euros when we didn’t eat much due to how poor the food was. Weirdly he could speak English perfectly till it came to discussing the bill
We stumbled upon this... restaurant by accident having been trapped at the top of Montarrone due to a thunderstorm closing the Cable car for a few hours. If there 'd have been anywhere else to go we 'd have turned around as soon as we stepped into the place but with the storm closing in we took a table in the classically decorated restaurant! The drinks were mediocre, food average, the Rod Stewart lookalike abrupt, but on the upside, we were thoroughly entertained by their very own Manuel, who ran around the place like a headless chicken, acting as if the world were ending and he was arranging an evacuation off the mountainside. I think he 'd arranged a special commission with the local taxi firm and was drumming up as much business as possible, he even came and dragged a couple of customers out of the cable-car station as it restarted as he insisted they 'd asked him to order a taxi! An unforgettable experience all around...
We happened to the restaurant by chance and the owner, despite the difficult period (covid and disgrace greeted us and pampered as if we were habitual clients. simple lunch but rich in tradition and love. recommended.
Typical dishes. polenta and mushrooms excellent. even mixed appetizers. very kind staff.
