Bidrage med feedbackStopped at the nearby Camp site and our group used the Pub as our meeting point. Have not been here since February 2020 and it was great to return. At the busier times we had a bit of a queue to the bar but as we were stopping till late in the evening it often became quiet when the day walkers went. Ate here bothe nights. First night the battered haggis and scampi on the second night. I didn't have the steak pie but others in our group highly rated it. Didn't have a pudding myself but others in the group did and the portion was large. Decent WiFi which is helpful in the valley. Looking forward to returning again and I won't leave it so long next time.
Stopped for our evening meal after a day walking in the area. Food was spot on. Chicken and ham pie with chips and fresh, leafy veg. Recommend you leave room for the sticky toffee pud. Will definitely be back.
Famous for its views and for being a climbers' bar. The lunch menu was short, but the food was good. The beers were excellent. The giant hearth with fire blazing is a welcome sight when it's wet outside.
We love the ODG, rustic and the perfect stop off during or after a walk. Our initial visit this time didn’t start off well, a dog belonging to a local was prowling the bar looking for food, it was friendly enough however I want to be able to enjoy my crisps in peace. Once it left our visit was far more enjoyable. Fully appreciate that the staff are not responsible for owners dogs, however they can have a ‘polite’ word as I suspect that ‘tourists’ bring in the most income. Will we be back, absolutely, it’s a great place.
Ate here twice in our weeks hols with our 2 dogs. Had pies both times as they were really good, chicken one night, steak another. It’s definitely a walkers bar, no frills, but food excellent, friendly staff, good prices. £14.50 for pie, chips and fresh veg.
