Salted Cafe - Sofia

I typically avoid writing negative reviews, but the atmosphere at Salted Caffe was completely off-putting. I visited with a friend during the day and was disappointed by the lack of vegan options on the bland menu. We ordered drinks and quickly left, unimpressed by the overall vibe of the place. The staff was strange and even argued about whether or not vegan honey was acceptable. Since returning home, I have been bombarded with sponsored Facebook posts promoting Christian beliefs and bible studies from the restaurant. They seem to support refugees from Ukraine and offer Bulgarian language courses, but their focus on missionary work and religion may not appeal to everyone. I do not recommend this place to those looking to avoid a religious atmosphere.

Its a shame not a lot of happy cow users have come here and this café is empty a lot of time, but why? It has great vegan options. I love their vegan sandwiches and smoothies. And some of their cakes don't contain honey either, so they are actually vegan. The girl behind the counter was also really kind Updated from previous review on 2018-09-24

Enjoyed our visit to this cafe. The wraps were quite good and the cake was delicious. I don't drink coffee so I can't comment on that. The only downside was that the day we were there there was only one person working and they seemed pretty overworked. They were serving and then running down to the kitchen to make the food. Hopefully that isn't their normal operating conditions.

The atmosphere at this restaurant is pleasant, although they played the same Shania Twain songs on repeat while we were there, which could be irritating. It's a good place to work or relax. However, we were disappointed with the food and coffee. The coffee was so bad that neither of us could finish it, as it was watered down. Despite seeing the espresso machine in use, we were unsure how such a weak coffee could be made. The wraps were also lacking in flavor. Overall, I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to visit this place, as there are better vegan options available in Sofia.

I went to this restaurant for lunch in January 2018 and ordered a Tofu and Avocado wrap. It was delicious.
