Scion Restaurant Silver Spring

When we arrived, we saw a sign on the door stating that the restaurant (Scion) was closed. Unfortunately, we were unable to dine there.

It was Sunday brunch and they had run out of coffee...the day before. We left and didn’t stay to eat. They were also way understaffed with one girl being the hostess, bartender, and server for two parts of the house. We felt so bad for her.

What happened here? It looked like the restaurant was trying to figure things out because it was only a soft opening or it has given up due to slow business.

We work across the street at NOAA so it's NOT new to us but a nice spot for Happy Hour. We celebrated my 50th there to sit and talk for two hours so it was good.

Even though this restaurant had permanently shut down, I was still able to make reservations through OpenTable. I received two confirmation emails before the booking date, but it wasn't until I arrived in the city that I found out the restaurant was no longer operating.
