Jen and Holly we incredibly friendly and professional. Food was great and I would easily...return if I was back in Sicamous, again!
The restaurant no longer offers a vegan menu. When we inquired about vegan options, the server was rude and somewhat aggressive, telling us not to trust what we read online. She claimed they had nothing for us (although they do have a beyond burger) and pressured us to quickly decide what we wanted. Feeling unwelcome, we decided to leave and went to the grocery store instead. As we were leaving, the server mentioned that nowhere in the area would accommodate us. Despite her hostility, we remained polite and understanding. It was disappointing to encounter such negative behavior from the server.
We live in Calgary but come out here often, and just learned about the vegan menu at Joe Schmucks yesterday. We both had the Beyond Burger which was SO good. They use Black Sheep cheese, which is local and the absolute BEST. There were only 2 vegan items on the menu, whereas if you look online there’s about 8 or 10. We asked the server if there was a vegan menu and she said not right now (COVID, I guess? so we asked about the beyond burger and chickun stir fry (on menu and she had no idea they were vegan (she offered us a lettuce bun because she was getting vegan mixed up with gluten free . She later told us she was new. This said, ask questions because they might not train the servers on it. She asked the kitchen, and they knew the answers. Great small town find!!!
We were stuck in traffic and had to cancel our reservation at a vegan restaurant in Kelowna that we were looking forward to. We discovered this place on Happy Cow and were pleasantly surprised by the delicious vegan menu. It was a hidden gem and a great find after missing out on our original dining plans in Kelowna.
I have tried several dishes from their new vegan menu, including the Taco salad (which was fantastic) and the garlic brie plate with bruschetta. Both were delicious! I will definitely be returning to try more items from their menu. This restaurant is hands down the best option for vegans in Sicamous. However, it is worth noting that this restaurant also serves meat and some of the decor may poke fun at vegetarians, so keep that in mind if it bothers you.
