Ice Cream - Shoemakersville

I can't say anything more wonderful than what's already been posted here. Except... They have fried pickles that are SPEARS not chips.! My favorite rare find.

Delicious and homemade, although I wish they had my favorite flavor, Cookie Butter, more often All their flavors are great, though! My favorite alternative is coffee espresso with hot fudge and it's awesome! Oo and their waffles and ice cream is to die for!

We usually stop here after visiting up north on major holidays. Easter was no exception. In the past, we have always enjoyed the homemade ice cream but today something was different. Both the cookies and cream and mint chocolate chip ice creams were rather icy in nature, not creamy. It seemed there was less butter fat in them. We hope this was a fluke and not a permanent change.

Another place I been coming to for years. Me and my wife even knew the previous owners and got to know the new owner who now keeps the place open year round instead of just opening in the summer. I have tried all there flavored Italian ices and every single flavor is good, my favorite is the root beer. I have tried most of there ice cream flavors, which there is a lot, and I can't complain about any of them. They are all good and taste exactly as there name suggests. The employees are always very friendly and there service is quick. You can choose to eat in or take out. It's not a very big place, so seating is limited and can fill up quick in the summer time. They also offer hot food and cakes as well, they have some refrigerators with cakes, ice cream and other treats if you are just looking to grab something and go.
