Bidrage med feedbackWe visited a restaurant in Beer on a Sunday in search of a spot for a light lunch. The place was completely empty when we arrived, but it had a nice newly decorated interior. Since they were dog friendly, we decided to give it a try. We ordered drinks and looked at the menu, only to realize they were just serving Sunday Roasts as proper lunches. Since we were looking for a sandwich type lunch, we ended up only having drinks and crisps. As we left, a few people had received their orders and we were glad we didn't end up ordering any food.
I'm not sure what has happened to the Dolphin in general, but after coming to Beer for 30 years, this place seems to be struggling. The food came out quickly and the service was okay, probably because there were hardly any customers in the restaurant, even during peak August. The place was extremely dirty, and we had to use a full pack of wet wipes to clean two tables. To top it off, the food was terrible. It's a real shame because the Dolphin used to be a gem in Beer.
Lovely comfortable area, and very friendly and welcoming staff always ready to help. Lovely cream teas
My family visited the lounge bar at the Dolphin Hotel during the Beer Regatta week. We arrived for an early evening dinner and found the hotel to be busy, as expected for this time of year. We easily found a table and placed our order with the friendly and helpful staff. The food was served promptly, with my gammon dish being particularly large and whole, taking up the entire plate. I felt that adding additional items to the plate could have improved the presentation. Side dishes such as fries and vegetables were served in smaller bowls. Overall, the food was average and did not stand out in my memory. Despite this, our evening was not ruined. It is possible that it was just an off night for the kitchen due to the high volume of customers.
Being a regular at Beer I recommend this restaurant/bar if your a lover of a good roast. It never fails. Most of the time you will find it on the menu. And of course other foods too.
