Bidrage med feedbackWhat a hidden gem! Craving some BBQ me and my husband came here on a Saturday afternoon and were so happy we did. This BBQ shop is in a converted house but still has a good amount of seating so we opted to eat there. At the counter we were looking over the menu and the owner was super friendly and helpful. He is retired military and we enjoyed talking to him for a bit before sitting down. We ordered the brisket plate with creamed corn and mac and cheese. Service was quick and we had our food pretty soon. Everything was insanely delicious! The brisket was super tender and flavourful and also paired well with their sauces. The cream corned was amazing and the mac and cheese was to die for. Pure comfort food! The portion was pretty big and I ended up taking some of it home. We left here super full and super happy!
I finally had the opportunity to eat here with my husband and give you my own experience. I ordered the baked potato w/brisket with sweet bbq sauce my husband ordered the nachos with brisket and spicy bbq sauce. They were delicious! My husband finished his plate and said he loved that all the nachos were covered in cheese unlike other places they don 't put enough cheese. The brisket was tender and juicy. The sauces were very tasty and flavorful. My potato was BIG, I could only eat half! I had to bring the rest home lol. The location is really homey . You can eat inside or outside on the front patio or on the front lawn. Good music to listen to while eating. The service was great! They were fast and efficient. Very polite, and welcoming. I 'd definitely come back for more.
BBQ is ALWAYS one of my requested food stops when I visit family here in Texas (of course and this was the place that I was taken too! The place is run by two military veterans (THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE!! and they are so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend it if you're into bbq that will knock your socks off! I indulged in the Rib Tip Plate with baked mac and cheese and creamed corn as my sides!!! The creamed corn was the favorite out the two.
Food was good. Service was ok. Ambiance was ok. My friend went there for a business lunch and told me about their experience. Said they wouldn't go back but that food was good. Ribs were more bone than meat but the brisket was juicy.
Awesome place! We are so happy to see Schertz main street developing with local businesses. The Purple Pig has amazing BBQ and the cream corn is to die for. My favorite meat is the chopped brisket, but everything is delicious and reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Bonus tip: After you're done scarfing down some BBQ, there is a cool bar you can walk to next door called Hidden Grove. I love walkable areas
