For 35 years we have come to the Kaiserstuhl several times a year. The Gasthaus Löwen is always a fixed starting point. The Helbling family is a good host in the traditional authentic guest room, where many locals still meet. In summer, the beautiful sun terrace is surrounded by old chestnut trees. The food is grounded and the service is fast and friendly. We love the Tagliatelle with Steinchampignons. We look forward to the next visit.

On our friendly question why could we not have the other table? , answered one of the sisters: do you want to order now, or discuss? . The other sister was addressed even more unfriendly. 1 star is still too much. Very cold atmosphere. Never again.

Days before, I had called for an overnight stay, it was told to me very unfriendly on the phone that I would not fit here if I put value on WLAN. My sister and I were there for dinner because it was close to my accommodation. The old woman behind the counter (probably the boss) interfered in every conversation that I led with my sister. I then talked to her and asked if she didn't see me staying with my sister? The lady didn't care. The saucer we ate was soft and plentiful but the sauce was a pure package of sauce. I found the price of over 19 € per person significantly exaggerated for a piece of meat with sauce and noodles and salad. Since I wanted to take the rest, I was given an outdated Butterschmalz box of 2.5 kilos. Conclusion: Once and never again!!!! Anyone who places value on well-maintained hospitality and behavior is missing here. Sad enough.
