Bidrage med feedbackMy 5 pillars that define a good restaurant: Food (0-10) : 7 The place is considered authentic mediterranean which it is but I noticed that they try to get creative with their recipes by adding different mediterranean items that usually don't belong to that specific category of food. The quality is not bad at all but they use a lot of species which covers a lot of things. I have visited the place couple of times and I feel that their quality have dropped from an 8 to a 7 but overall is not bad at all. The portions are big and filling. Service (0-10) : 10 They have great service. The people their try to help you with everything they got so a big plus for that Cleanness (0-10) : 6 The food is clean but the last time I visited the place, I noticed that the tables, chairs, utensils and bathrooms were not clean. They definitely need to work more on cleaning Aesthetics of the place (0-10) : 8 It is a fast food place at the end but it is awkwardly shaped by having 3 seating areas the outside, the middle section and the back. They tried to make it look interesting but it needs more work to look great Location (0-10) : 10 It is in a great location on the third street. Can't complain there
I love this place! Out of three visits to Santa Monica area, we've been there twice for lunch. Their kabab sandwich is so tasty with lots of flavors. You can choose even five different toppings such as humus, potato and eggplant salad and so on. Highly recommended!
Veggie plate was a great split between me and someone else. The hummus was really good (better than expected) as well as the laffa. Can't comment on the service. Rather go here as opposed to anyone else on the promenade itself. A lot of other restaurants in the area are order at counter like this place.
I am staying in Santa Monica in a hotel by the third street, looked for kosher meat on google and I was pretty sure I'll have to go a long way to find a good kosher restaurant around me. So at first, I was very surprised how close it was and their location is great. The place looks clean and it's not too noisy, there's an option to sit outside on the street which is very nice and then the service was good, fast order taking, they made sure that I know what's in the sandwich that I'm ordering and took like 5 minutes until I got my food. And then the real test it was tasty! Love the place, would defenetly recommend to go check those guys out. Thank you!
Hummus Bar Express offers classic Mediterranean fare. From chicken shawarma, falafel, to kabobs. Tons of vegetarian options to choose from. Their hummus is served as is or spicy, and can be combined with beef, pine nuts or mushrooms. Located on 3rd St. Promenade, it gets quite busy during the weekends. They've got lots of seating and a little patio outside perfect view of the Promenade. Their main dishes can either be taken as a sandwich or as a platter. If you opt for the sandwich you can pick up to 5 toppings to add. These wraps are such a great deal if you're really hungry. They are huge!! While the platter comes with 2 sides rice, salad, mashed potatoes, etc. BEST BITES: you have to get the laffa whether you're getting a sandwich or a platter this is a must. It's soft, huge, and is the perfect vehicle for your protein, sides, salads, hummus or babaganoush. One downside is it does get cold pretty quick especially if you get it with the platter. I usually end up taking the rest home and it microwaves quite well. Sandwich wise the ribeye is amazing! You get a ton of juicy perfectly seasoned beef. As for toppings, my boyfriend gets it with the corn salad, hummus, fries, and caramelized onions really great combo. Their hummus is a little bit dry for my liking and is not as flavourful. Unfortunately since they're called Hummus Bar, I was really expecting amazing hummus. However for the price point and the quantity that you get, it's not bad.
