Bidrage med feedbackWe are staying at the H10 Hotel, and we thought we'll eat at the restaurant on site tonight. Beautiful setting by the pool (you can eat inside as well). The staff were lovely and very welcoming. I believe the menus change regularly, but there was plenty of choice. I had tuna ceviche to start (one of my faves), and it was DELICIOUS. There were so many flavours, and it was big. Really really good. We ordered a bottle of Rose, which was also of exceptional quality. For my main I had the tenderloin steak. Now steak can be hit and miss, but this was delicious. Beautifully cooked (to my liking), and seasoned beautifully. Really high quality. Really top quality food served beautifully in a fantastic location with great staff. May have to eat here tomorrow as well.
Oh gosh !!!!!!!! Hate to say it but really not good at all. Was staying in the hotel, which was quite good, breakfast was fine but I would strongly advise to avoid dinner here.
This is the restaurant of the H10 Blue Mar hotel where we stayed 2 weeks in August and booked half board, so we were 'doomed '. It is a table service dinner with starter and main dish changing every two days (but the same menu comes back week after week) and always the 7 different desserts to choose from. We think there is no cook in the hotel but that all portions are 'ready delivered ', put in a microwave and then dressed on a teller. Almost all main dishes come in small portions (the cod will be 3x3x3 cm piece; fish soup is 1 cm in a small plate), some of the ingredients are not included (there was no 'black truffle ' on the risotto and the second week the John Dory fish was not a John Dory (as admitted by the staff after our complaint) I think it was a cheap pangasius). The salads all offer plenty of salad with little else; the Caesar salad will give you 2 sometimes 3 small pieces of chicken; the brie salad will give you 2, sometimes 3 and once 4 pieces of brie; the salmon salad will give you 1 small slice of salmon, sometimes 2; the salmon carpaccio had varying quantities of salmon as well. If you are hungry, the best option would be to combine the tomato mozarello salad and the steak (but not sure that you actually get the 200gr that the menu promises). In other words: do not book half board and go outside for dinner; there are some trendy places at the beach (with good food according to other guests we talked to) and some traditional Spanish places (that we visited at lunch) nearby.
Sorry, “roasted tomato soup” was actually from the can, tasteless steak, even a bad choice if included in the half pension. Actually, the restaurant is a non-creative place were food is not inspired by traditional nor local specialties and is more adapted to German/English public. Our tip: Please try not to treat the culinary homesickness of your guests through your kitchen.
