Bidrage med feedbackUnpleasant woman at bar refused to serve us because it was 10 45 and we were supposed to be there before 10.45 for a last orders drink! We were told. We're made to feel very unwelcome when we had travelled there to show our Irish friend a bit of history and Black Country hospitality. Unpleasant unwelcoming.
A group of us were in Tipton to visit the Black Country Living Museum and fancied a pint when we got off the train. We found the Fountain Inn purely by chance, but what a find. The pub was friendly; the Lady Lady (Julie) was wonderful and the beer was good, obviously kept well. If we are in Tipton again, we will definitely visit, for an hour or three!! Thank you Fountain Inn for making us so welcome.
Went here on Saturday afternoon pre vist to wwfc (another story) great local pub friendly staff and locals Beer great price plenty of options. Thank all.
I'm from South London... I'm not supposed to know about canals and pubs in the West Midlands... My wife is from Great Bridge just down the road.... she left the area years ago and hasn't got a clue about where she grew up... Well, I love London, but I've also learned to love an area that's pulled it's heritage back from the brink and done something.... Enough said... This pub is by a regenerated canal.... and after a walk along the banks it was a welcome sight for a pint and a sandwich.... and a pretty good pint and a sandwich, with a smile, was provided.... even in these pandemic times. Good on you Fountain Inn.....I'll be back... ;
This canal-side one bar pub is obviously a true gem in the local community, judging by the mix of customers that were there when we arrived. My pal and I came for the beer and the very nice barmaid convinced us to stay for lunch. We both chose the Roast Lamb Dinner. Although the Lamb was Steam-Roasted, it was delicious, and very tender; plus there was plenty of it; along with generous portions of Cabbage, Carrots, Peas, Roast Potatoes and Buttery Mashed Potatoes, a Yorkshire Pudding, a separate boat of Gravy plus Mint Sauce as well, it was all very fresh and well cooked and excellent value at £4.99. There is a good range of real ales that we regretted not staying longer to try more of.
