My wife and I are driving from Ravenna to Bari and wished to break up the trip into two halves. San Salvo was about halfway we decided to spend the night there. I expected an excellent dinner from the restaurant because it was a Michelin one star but I was very much surprised at the extraordinary me quality of the food presented last night. This restaurant could easily be in our hometown of San Francisco, or London, or New York. It's that excellent. To find it here, in a sleepy little Italian beach town is a miracle. We ordered from the ala carte menu were delighted by our selections. The service was professional the entire experience was wonderful. Nicola, the chef, came over to our table after the meal we had a good conversation about the history of the restaurant his philosophy of cooking. It's local, regional, family. Nothing could be better.
Ristorante Al Metro was our lunch stop on our way from Bari to Venice. We came in tired and somewhat grumpy. We left really refreshed and with our spirit elevated. It was a wonderful experience in every way: the food, the service, the aesthetics. Thank you
In this fourth visit (not that others were less) I was stabbed by the professional growth of nicola. really exceptional the traditional menu that presented us this Sunday of September. in all this, the humility of this fantastic chef, the passion, curiosity and study together with a crystalline technique that led him to assemble really complex dishes. in short, this place where the art of the kitchen is never trivial, a trip is valid. nicula congratulations and thanks x the beautiful day you have made us pass and a thanks to antonio and the staff of attentive, kind and never too invasive salt. recommended recommended
Booked for hours we arrive slightly in advance but we are welcomed and made to accommodate the staff in a kind way. we offer water and here the first criticism: black water glasses can also be beautiful, but for a waiter who has to fill it, it is not so simple to realize when the glass is empty and fill it again, so I found myself filling the empty glass vaults alone, no problem, but it doesn't seem to me the maximum, maybe a transparent glass would help the staff. As for the service, we have not always been served by the same waiter all night, right? glass of empty wine, pass a waiter and fill them, after seconds and not exaggerated, pass another and shave the glass previously filled, from which we had not drunk. something about the service: for almost all courses we receive the two forks of cutlery and spoon, so we are free to decide whether to eat the flow with the fork or with the spoon, which I sincerely appreciate, this happened also for spaghetti, I had there fork and spoon, but unfortunately it did not happen for risotto, there I had only the spoon, and I hate to eat risotto with the spoon, I was almost refusing to eat it, but a spoon. the most negative thing comes at the time when we are responsible for: I could see the receipt and total of it and paid by me, and I wouldn't want it to see the total, sincerely I don't understand why bringing a tray just to put the clashes on us, for others leaving in good sight the total of it. I conclude by saying that the rates and the account are online and deserve, in my opinion a micheline star, the service absolutely not, I'm sorry.
