Public House 131 - San Diego

People were short and fake...they messed up our order twice between drinks and food. It is open air and still loud. If you want a bar to bring you bad food with little flavor and repeatedly bring the wrong items then this is tour place. The burger patty did not come within an inch or more of the bun. The birria burrito was flavor less...they cooked bacon correctly. Aside from that not sure I would ever go back nor suggest this location to anyone!

Went there for a beer with my wife. 12 beers on tap. Asked for a taster before ordering. Bartender said that Public House does not allow any tasters. So I guess you have to just buy a full beer and hope you like it. I have never seen this kind of policy in a San Diego bar. Disappointing and strange.

Reasonably priced, brewery style food. Staff is very nice and helpful. They do happy hour specials before 6pm. I shared the calamari, Brussels and slides. All very tasty. Also got the cookie sundae probably would skip this next time as it wasn't anything special)

I typically don 't (won 't) write a review . If a place is good, I 'll go back; if not, I won 't go back. BUT Public House has been my go to place for a little over a year now. Food is great, beer is always ice cold and a great selection but most importantly, the ambiance always feels comfortable. The bar staff is very personable and energetic. Couldn 't say a bad thing about the place. The sliders are the best thing on the menu, the pretzel is always fresh and the size of a large pizza. I give this place 11 10 stars .

I joined my coworkers for a White Elephant gift swap at lunch time on a Monday. There were about 20 of us. We had a great time. The food and atmosphere were great. The only negative thing was the service. I was about 15 minutes later than everyone and it was probably 10-15 min before anyone took my order. We all ran out of drinks (for several, several minutes) before they came back around. I actually had to ask for them to refill our drinks before they came around. The place didn't appear overly busy beyond our group, so I felt like the beverage service could have been better. We were not drinking alcohol, so it's not like we needed bar service. But, perhaps due to the size of the group, they were behind. Or perhaps they were short-staffed. Otherwise, the food was fine and the staff were nice.
