Rangoon Ruby Burmese Cuisine - San Carlos

Rangoon Ruby is a little anomaly. The interior radiates from something that makes it a higher end, but in a western way, while the food is obviously Burmese/Thai. Now it's okay to be a chic Asian cuisine. Unfortunately, the quality of food does not support them. The chicken comes like papaches. While the paratas were tasty, the lamb bath was simply washed out. The eggplant shell was surprisingly the saving grace. But again, a dish, which is simply tasty from many, does not live until the caliber of the facade. If it wasn't for the friendly waiter, I would have dropped the rating on a 2-star. A bit disappointing and a bummer they could not live up to the expected quality.

It was my first time to eat Burmese food and it was pretty good. It's similar to Indian food, but still something different. I liked the curry lamb.

Order this place for catering to the office and everyone absolutely loved the food. Beef and chicken were tender, walnut shrimp were large, garlic noodles was also beautiful. Fiery tofu and vegetables (green beans) and garlic eggplant were very popular choices. One must be for the office. Catering parts are definitely slightly smaller than the claimed headcount, are prepared to order something extra compared to the claimed headcount.

I ordered Tea Leaf Salad and Burmese Pad Thai with Tofu over DoorDash on 7. June 2022. I am so disappointed that I almost $16 for no tea leaf tea leaf salad (see photo) and the $17 Burmese pad Thai with tofu (which tasted as if it were from Trader 's Joe's teriyaki tofu) really disappointed. No, I'm angry. I was willing to overlook the extremely expensive meal, but not with an important ingredient really infuriates me. Therefore, this review. I'll never order from here again.

We liked the food options. Ordered vegetarian and non vegetarian starters and main dishes. Didn't order any dessert though as we had desserts at fisherman's wharf earlier. The tofu and the chicken preparations were good and so were the samosas. We ordered medium spicy but still it wasn't very spicy. Could have easily gone for the highest spicy version.
