I've been to this restaurant several times now and before my last visit I was always satisfied with the food and service. However, I went for dinner today and ordered a steak rare. Normally I am not the type to send a steak back (in fact, I had never done this before I normally just eat it as is), but this time the meat was clearly well done, brown all the way through and just too far from the temperature I had asked for so I sent it back. What they returned was a steak that was raw (and I know what raw meat looks like I worked at a butcher's counter for over 3 years) and room temperature in the middle with a rubbery texture. I wasn't up for an argument so I took a chance eating it thinking that perhaps if the meat is fresh enough it would not pose a health risk. Big mistake. A couple hours later I felt very fatigued, hot and nauseous, followed by repeated vomiting. I am still not sure to this point if this steak was some form of revenge in response to me not approving of the first cook or if it was an actual attempt to cook it rare. Regardless, a meat thermometer would be a good investment until you are able to accurately cook your meat without one.
My wife and I went to Marco's with another couple. It was about 2 pm, not a peak time for lunch. After waiting almost 10 minutes to be greeted at our table, we were just about ready to leave when a waiter showed up and gave us food and drink menus. We placed our drink order with our waitress and they were served in a timely manner. We then placed our food order. Must be a skillful staff, as I noticed none of them actually wrote down the orders. After about 20 minutes 3 burger entrees showed up. Shortly after that, my pizza showed up...instead of a pizza pescatore, I was served some other pizza with provalone topped with arugula. The waitress apologized saying that she misheard my order. She offered to give me free coffee and dessert for her mistake but nothing else, stating that she was already down $40 because she had to pay for her mistake. That First of all, the pizza I ordered was a 10 inch for about $18 so her math was totally is BS. The wives in our party leave to do some shopping while I started to eat my meal with my buddy patiently waiting so I would not eat alone. This is the first time that I actually left $0 for a tip. The food was okay overall but he mediocre to bad service sucked.
Went there with family on father's day. Had a great time.Had the orange roughy fillet, wife had the surf and turf kids pizza. All was great. The best part of the night was the charming and funny waiter freddy. He made our night. Bravo sir. Great food and awesome service.
My husband and I took a friend visiting from Germany out for supper. The service as usual was great. We sat out on the terrace facing the St Anne locks as it was a beautiful night. My husband ordered the linguini mussels and both of us ordered the steak frites. I didn't expect it to be that good but had a craving for fries. My friend and I were both surprised at how delicious it was. So tasty. And surprisingly, they served more mussels than you can ask for. Normally it's lots of pasta and some mussels. We were all so pleasedWe shared a pitcher of Sangria, very yummy but could have used a little more booze in it.Just a note, if you're coming by car it can be difficult to park. It's free but always packed so drive up the side streets and you will find something.
