Stretch Roman Pizza Co

Stretch Roman Pizza Company is on Abbot Street just off E. Hastings. As the name implies, their pizzas are long and Roman style. I really did not know that was a thing but apparently one of the defining factors is that the dough contains more olive oil that their Neopolatin cousins. This renders it light and crispy even though it is a little thicker. I tried their Pancetta e Scamorza (which is so much fun to say! and Caprese Pizza. My visit here was a part of Van Foodster's Pizza Palooza and I confess that I was too full at that point to do more than nibble a corner of each piece which was impressive. I took the rest home to share with my partner who was working that evening. We both agreed though that even the next day, these are very good pizza flavours. The two cheeses (smoked mozzarella and bocconcini really stole this show. My intention is to return when I am hungry and bring my partner. I love the long pizza boxes and the corresponding shaped insulated delivery bags! It is a casual chic space in a revitalizing area to sit and enjoy or take out!

They have a fairly extensive menu of pizza toppings and combinations. They also have salads and paninis on the menu. But we were here for the pizza. As a roman pizza place, the front counter features about a dozen varieties of pizza by the slice. Customers can order by the slice, or place a made-to-order for a 12″, 24″ or 36″ pizza. Any by-the-slice orders are reheated quickly in the oven and served.

Really love the variety of pizza styles coming to Vancouver and Roman is one of my favourites! The crust is super light and fluffy and not greasy at all. With all these options, why would anyone ever order fast food pizza? Zucca and Pancetta is definitely my favourite but so many options and looking forward to trying a lot more.
