In Situ a Rouen

Terrible service and unwilling atmosphere. would have been faster if I were to fly back to england to get milk for my tee than to wait for the server that ignored the request several times.

Here at our daily visit in rouen. the cafe serves a fantastic barrista coffee at a reasonable price -1€70 for a cafe allonge. 5/5 for me.

This looked inviting, with its outside seats and near the art museum. I had a good appearance from appetizers and a drink before I go out and back to my accommodations. nothing very special and nothing really wrong. not sure that I...recommend other restaurants in the same block were probably a good reason.

Rouen is a beautiful town with many museums and a splendid municipal library. Quite central and close to the old town, this restaurant has a nice terrace and offers an inexpensive three courses lunch. I at a à la carte the fish of the day,...cod, at 15 euros, rather good, and had a 'café gourmand ', coffee (ordinary and not hot enough) with 3 uninteresting miniature desserts. With a half bottle of mineral water my lunch costed 24 euros and twenty cents but it took me 3 requests and 15 minutes to get the bill. Next time I will accelerate the procedure by leaving without paying: in my experience it brings very quickly the bill.

We had a great lunch at In Situ after our visit at the Musée des Beaux Arts. The restaurant is conveniently located next to the museum. We had a fantastic perfectly cooked steak, accompanied by boiled vegetables (fairly average). My disappointment was in the service:...our waiter seem to be not interested in our requests and, when asked to describe the dishes, his answers were totally unhelpful, just stating the obvious or simply yes/no. We asked all our questions in French and still he was not making any effort to give us explanations. As much as I liked the food and the place, the service was not satisfactory and I felt not particularly welcomed.
