V.o.f. Pizzeria Spaghetteria 'il Carretto' Rotterdam

Restaurator is on the edge when Rotterdam. We were nearby and decided to visit one of the places that had good reviews and were not disappointed. The hotel is located in a residential building on the ground floor and easy to find. Food was really good! Pasta dish had just enough cheese in it, while Lasagne had meat in the middle and you can clearly see where meat ends vs rest of the dish. Waiters were really attentive and acted immediately if we needed something. I'd come back.

Best pizza restaurant in Rotterdam, hands down. Extremely friendly staff, large enough menu and very tasty pizzas and other dishes. You can eat or take away. Make sure to book a table in advance or order by phone, this place is very busy!

Perfect pizzas, Sicilian osso buco and the great Italian wines to top it off. Take the classic tiramisu to finish your dinner...

This restaurant is fine. Went there with high expectations because of the rave reviews, but the experience was something else. The staff lacked compassion and did not rub us the right way. They seemed to be making fun of myself and the people I was with and it did not give us a nice feeling while eating. They also checked up on us multiple times and while that can be appreciated they did it so excessively that it became annoying and noticeable and hindered us from having a normal conversation. The food was salty but decent and the wine was good. They also bring out bread for you immediately without you asking for it or ordering it. You would think or assume that this is complementary, especially considering that you did not order it, but you will get billed for it at the end of your dinner. Luckily myself and the other patrons were aware of this because of other reviews, but still a questionable and shady move when you consider it. Overall not a bad restaurant and they are willing to think with you. The staff lacks on some aspects, but maybe they just had an off day or they just didn’t know what to do with diners like myself and the people I was with. The restaurant has a nice ambience to it, and the food was not halfbad, but the overall experience overshadows this greatly.
