Bidrage med feedbackCame to eat dinner with my friend during our trip. here was amazing! a million times better than olive garden (olive garden is a safe choice for Italian restaurants as it is a chain.) I wish they had a restaurant in Texas here. I think of this place at least once in the month. haha.
Eating was delicious, don't get me wrong, but I feel like it was played a little. I come from the Italian family and if you give me this kind of food, I want this kind of portion. Maybe I am selective, but still hungry.
Quiet, slow, dark, limited menu, really could use a refurbish. The food is ok. As is the service.
I went here for the first time this evening. Walking in, I liked the environment. Not too brightly lit, not too loud. The tables are okay but the furniture isn't terribly comfortable. Our waitress, Jenna, was nice but aloof. We were left alone for long periods of time without beverages or an order having been taken. I ordered a gin martini and instead I received something lemony and made with vodka. I intended to inform my waitress about this but she was nowhere to be seen for at least 10 minutes. I finally took my drink to the manager and explain it the situation. She listened and remade the drink herself. Finally, our entrees arrived. We had been there for at least an hour by then. I ordered the veal alla marsala. Veal, I'm sure you know, is known for being very tender. My veal was chewy and bland. Although I added a liberal amount of salt and pepper, as well as lemon to my pasta, I could taste virtually nothing. I ended up sending my meal back and I didn't order a replacement. I ended up having had a very strong martini and almost no food, so I left with a bit of a headache. Our appetizers were okay, but nothing special. The calamari was a bit overcooked and chewy. The cheese sticks were fine, though I'm not the biggest fan of provolone. The fried artichoke was unexceptional. As for the people I dined with, two other people ordered the veal and found it chewy. I have to say, the service was less than acceptable. I understand our server was young and inexperienced, but she was also careless and inattentive. The manager was professional but I don't quite believe that it was an unusual day there. It was not busy. In fact, other than a few folks of the bar I think they were hardly any customers. There was no excuse for so many mistakes and so little service. Ultimately, the faults of any restaurant are the responsibility of the manager. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant and I certainly won't be returning. Unfortunately, it's hard to find any quality food in Roswell and I was looking forward to it nice Italian meal for a change. Unfortunately, all I got was a headache and a very high bill (even with two plates taken off). My personal opinion is that the restaurant industry is a great opportunity to scam folks out of money, and I would say that I felt a bit scammed. When you go to an expensive restaurant, you expect a certain quality of service. Frankly, I have had better service at a Dairy Queen. The bread was good.
The Pasta Café offers good service and tasty food, including a few menu items with local influence (such as manicotti with Hatch-chile sauce). We were the only ones seated on the patio, and the bartender did a good job of keeping our area serviced despite a busy evening. The whole restaurant is on a slope, and the patio has a privacy wall, so the roadway vanishes altogether. A nice place to relax after a busy day of walking to tourist stops.
