Neptuns - Rostock

Dined twice in this restaurant, both times the servers took care of my family and myself. Food cooked to perfection, and very tasty. Forming part of an upper hand hotel I was expecting it to be very expensive, but the prices are reasonable, service was...excellent, and the food well presented. Another place I will definitely visit again

The Weineck is one of several restaurants in the Hotel Neptune on the boardwalk next to the beach. An afternoon experience was not great, with poor service and expensive light dishes. However, we had a totally different dinner experience: excellent service and good food, including...Spaghetti Gorgonzola and “rumpsteak.” A wide choice of German and International wines and the waiter suggested a Primitivo Torcicoda that was excellent. No English menu, but most dishes were easy to figure out and the waiter spoke some English. Great views of the Baltic.

We stopped by at lunch time during the Hansasail event due to a local recommendation and we were definitely not disappointed. This was according to our local host, a favorite place for the old East German (DDR) government officials and a place frequented by the...old Secret Police (Stasi) and it is known for a local specialty broiled chicken dish. Broiled chicken is not what one normally thinks of when thinking German food but, it is a local specialty and, this place does it really well. This is an upper end hotel but, surprisingly the restaurant is very reasonably priced. The food and the service were what one would expect in a premium hotel restaurant but the price was not! Hansasail is a big event and the area was packed and, so was the hotel and restaurant; however, we were accomodated without reservation and did not have to wait long to get seated. Even though the restaurant was extremely busy, our order was taken quickly, the staff was extremely friendly and cheerful and, our food came faster than expected. There are a variety of different sauces to choose from to go with the potatos and ours was very good. A half chicken dish was plenty for me and I 'm a big person. Hier wird man mit Speis' und Trank nicht nur bedient. Arft und Zubereitung der Speisen entsprechen dem Niveau eines gut geführten Restaurants. Für das Getränkeangebot gilt das Gleiche. Überaus freundliches und sehr aufmerksames Service-personal vervollständigt die sehr gute Bewertung. Alles war ok.

Ich liebe die Eiscreme in Neptun's M., besonders den Vitamin-Orangen-Eisbecher, deshalb zieht es mich immer wieder hierher. Der Service war auch diesmal sehr freundlich und flott.
