Idgies Fine Food - Rossland

One of the rare places where the cook still really cooks (instead of warming up the simple things. French style (good quality meat/fish with fresh warm vegetables, sauce etc.). The Entourage needs a facelift, but it's still cozy. Friendly staff

We were very hungry after a long day of skiing and look forward to dinner. We ordered the filled chicken breast and a Brie appetizer. The chicken breast was tiny and dried. The sides of vegetables and potatoes were delicious, but not enough. The...appetizer was a joke: a little melted cheese and a few dice of bread. Not impressed. We had to find a grocery store to buy a snack.

We have a reservation for 2, by Open Table for 6:00. When we're there, the server said they didn't check it. I felt bad in a way because she seemed upset. The owner must forward how to check...this or not use. It is preferred to try the restaurant directly. The same server found us a table anyway. She knew about a reservation that wasn't there by 8:00. We would have understood, but I appreciate the fact that she did. I ordered the sesame-bounded halibut. My part was fantastic. I expected a little bit, but really enjoyed what I got. There were vegetables and rice on the side. The dessert was a chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream. I had a great dinner. Loved being on the terrace. Only con, the chairs were the gardens, not too robust. All in all, the atmosphere was beautiful. Service was great! Thank you for coming in when we wanted to eat.

I had some excellent meals here. Then I had food where I thought... that wasn't what I expected. They're strong at dinner and not at dessert. The atmosphere is cool and intimate. Servers are usually very friendly. I would recommend it.

Our best dining experience in Rossland. Inviting menu with great options in a rustic building that feels a bit like old Quebec City. Good service and reasonably priced food and spirits......highly recommended and would return
