Dive Grille (north Hills)

This place is unpredictable. Sometimes the food is good. Last few times I ate here it was not good. Tonite...not so good. Fries were under cooked...ugh. that should be hard to screw up. I can't figure out why guests give this place 5 stars? Some people eat anything!

This review is purely service oriented. We stopped in here upon coming from the Arts Festival for a late night cap, snack, and finish the Pirates game. Didn't have channel to watch the Buccos finish off the Twins. Okay, it happens, sports channels are pricey, I get that. The overall worst part was the downstairs bar service. 2 bar tenders, 1 of which thought it was her social hour that carried a conversation the entire hour we were there, constantly playing on her phone while the 2nd bar tender served pretty much the entire bar and seating area surrounding the bar. She had to step in multiple times, as the 1st girl, who was near us the entire time was so engaged with her friend drinking at the bar all she did was get us waters and napkins. Literally cringed as we watched the 2nd waitress, who did all of the work while we were there, and probably before, put our cash tip in the shared tip jar. You should watch your bar footage, reprimand, and fire the 1st, as it is complete wasted overhead.

Food was bland and under seasoned. Waitress was doing her best but had a lot of tables. Salads were the best thing we ate.

I drive by here all the time and I have always wanted to try it. Tonight my son and his girlfriend invited my wife and myself to dinner here. I haven't been in here for 25 years, and the improvements made are phenomenal. Very clean, inviting and charming. All staff members were very friendly and we were greeted and seated with just about no wait. I ordered the big kahuna burger, my wife had the Alabama slammer fried chicken sandwich, my son had the Buffalo chicken hoagie and his girlfriend had the pulled pork and tater tots. EVERYTHING LOOKED amazing and tasted even better!! I have been craving a good REAL burger for a week, and this more than hit the spot!! Portion sizes were great, everything came out hot and fresh, and all of our food was DELICIOUS. One of the best meals out in a LONG TIME! This place is a MUST if you're looking for some phenomenal food at reasonable prices! HIGHLY RECOMMEND
