Vecchia Locanda - Roma

We came to this restaurant several years ago and when we returned to Rome, we had to go back. The second time was even better. We sat down in the cellar area. The food, service, and ambiance of this place can't be beaten. I wish it was located nearby in the US so I could go all the time.

Grabbed dinner with a group here on our final night in Italy. It is in a cute little alley way, so it is not near a busy street. We had a group of 7 and I’m glad we had a reservation, as it is small. The service was very kind, as our group asked lots of questions. We got a couple of prosciutto and mozzarella plates and the antipasti plate for the table. I loved the antipasti plate. My husband and I followed the server’s recommendation for pasta and got the cacio e pepe and the gnocchi sorrentino. Both were delicious. Prices were very good for the quality of the food. Definitely worth a stop while in Rome!

Excellent service! Food was alright though. Had the sea bass, which small for the price. A little difficult to eat boned-in. Took a little longer for our meals, but waiter was kind enough to check in on us every now and then.

Nice service and great food. A bit hidden in a side road and away from the crowds therefore a perfect location. Very welcoming waiter. Keep on going like this. Will definitely come back.

Capitati per caso ieri sera, abbiamo avuto un'ottima sorpresa...Piatti tipici romani cucinati veramente bene e curati. Il personale ci ha accolto con molto calore e simpatia. Se si ripassa da Roma torneremo sicuramente!!! Grazie Vecchia Locanda.
