My dad loves this place because it 's healthy . Actually he just loves shabu-shabu because it is cleaner , no oil and everything is boiled yet still flavorful. The history of shabu-shabu started from Genghis Khan who feeds his army hotpot and thinly sliced meat to extend their food rations and something to warm them during cold winter nights. Healthy Shabu-Shabu offers a variety of ingredients. For sets, there is a standard serving of Taiwan pechay, Baguio pechay, fresh noodles, sotanghon noodles, fish ball, squid ball, meatball, tofu slices, and some vegetables plus your choice of meat. I usually order their lamb. Aside from the hot pot they also offer cooked versions. My usual is steamed dumplings and seafood fried rice. They are very tasty and delicious. Till the end of summer, they have a free Japanese-style halo halo for every set order.
This is the only place that caters to those who are craving for hot pot in Robinson's Ermita. My inlaws and my Husband love the place, and we always frequent this, but for me I find the price a bit too overwhelming. But the hot pot itself is pretty awesome. :D To be honest, I really loved the way that the soup and the sauces work together and create melody in my mouth. Just don't bring super makulit kids here cause for sure you won't be able to enjoy the experience. Trust me, although perfect for a family bonding or casual date, this is no place for a really picky two year old boy. #Hugot hehehe... I also love the fact that they offer free dessert after the meal, as it is part of the package that they have. :D
We’ve been to Robinsons Place Manila countless of times. We’ve tried almost all restaurants. But each time we pass by Healthy Shabu – Shabu, we simply scan the menu board outside and walk away. We had a connotation that shabu – shabu is expensive but not filling. But since Boyet wasn’t feeling well and was craving for hot soup, we decided to give it a shot. We decided to get the Beef Tenderloin with Seafood set. We put the beef first followed by a little bit of everything. We added lots of garlic and seasoned it with the paste. Boyet asked the server if the set meal is already good for two people. She said that it’s only good for one. She was lying! Haha! We enjoyed sipping the hot and flavorful shabu – shabu. But we were almost ready to raise the white flag because we got so full! Fearing that the shabu – shabu is not enough for us because of what the server said, we decided to get a rice bowl meal. Even if our tummies are about to burst, we still munched on the Chicken Breast Rice Meal. Teriyaki sauce is mixed with the rice and the very tender chicken strips. Boyet and I agreed that the teriyaki sauce isn’t too sweet which made it more enjoyable for both of us. We had a blast eating shabu – shabu together for the first time. We’re definitely coming back! :
There were four of us and we ordered Mixed Seafood Deluxe C (shrimp, oyster, salmon fillet, fish fillet, tuna fillet, sea cucumber) for P2950 (take note that the prices in their menu do not include 12% VAT). According to the menu, the set includes sea cucumber but there wasn't any on the plate when they served it. Our order came with noodles (both flat noodles and vermicelli), corn, fish balls, vegetables, crab sticks, mushrooms, and bottomless iced tea. Beside the plates and utensils were a serving of sate, an egg, chili, chopped garlic, spring onions and a bowl of sauce. I loved the flat noodles especially since I cooked them al dente. The salmon was great! Just make sure you don't overcook it. The tuna was a bit hard and tasteless, but I guess it was because I overcooked it. The shrimps and oysters were not bad either. The four of us were able to finish everything except for some noodles and fish balls. It was such a hearty meal! After eating, I felt great, probably because I knew that the food was healthy. I cooked everything myself so I knew that nothing harmful was added (well, I'm not exactly sure about the sauce and the sate, but still).
