Bidrage med feedbackVery crowded before Chinese new year, we ordered set for 8ppls, soup is very salty, chicken is also salty, service seems okay if she knew we order! So far food is ok, but salty
The hot n soup was excellent, but the shrimps won tone was boring and very “fish”. The general tao chicken was ok, but beef in black bean was very boring. Fried Veggie rice was very bland. Chef Chow Haupt was terrible with dried cardboard... noodles. Spring rolls very boring and bland. Not back.
A hot bowl on the cold winter day is always welcome. This restaurant offers much more with fried noodles, rice and other dishes next to Kongee. We love the Chinese grill, our favorites are the Roast Pig or the Roast Duck. Everything's good... and the portions are good.
My calculation: 4 stars for the server, 2 for the OK food, MINUS 4 for the owner (doubles as cashier. I've eaten here before. Edible food, but what brought me back was a friendly service of cheerful servers. NOT THE TIME! waitress still kind, food... edible, but when I went to the cashier/owner to pay my bill, she kept my change w/o a word. (I gave $16 for $14.90 bill. I confused a second before the question, not knowing I will get a lecture in answer: changing? You have to make a tip. It's not a food dish. I swear! Sure, she could not have seen the toonie that I have coupled in my hand, ready to the change that I get and make it a nice tip that the servers really deserves. Regardless of this, the cashier had no right to change. It was my money! A friend apparently had similar experiences there. He told me what I gave me would go to the owner anyway, not my server. That made me angry!! This woman clearly had no idea what tips are for... NON drive of the mill service, not only because her restaurant is not in a food dish. And let's see how this owner deserves my tip anyway! They had free Wi-Fi, so I asked them about the password. She just pointed to an obscure sign through the kitchen and said without lifting an eye, over there. Read it yourself. [Again translated Verbatim! Do you deserve such a tip? Who needs a lecture now?
Don’t be misled by its name. Other than congee, this Cantonese restaurant has a huge variety of tasty and authentic dishes to choose from. The restaurant is bright and spacious and the staff are polite and helpful. Food came quickly and was piping hot. The...congee, noodles and clams with black bean sauce are highly recommended.
