Village Grill - Reno

Very cool little restaurant with a park right outside and even a water park area. It is separate from the business but makes for an awesome family lunch brunch or meal. Pizza, burgers, beer on tap. Great place to chill.

I finally was introduced to this little gem of a place nestled in the community of Cold Springs. Now I realize that this is well off the beaten path for most of my fellow Reno neighbors, but it is really a valued business for those of us who live in the outskirts of Reno. I visited on a Tuesday which is known as Taco Tuesday. They have an entire menu dedicated to the price of $2 for a variety of items. Tacos, quesadilla, tortilla soup, house wine and beer, and so much more. One $2 Taco and a drink of your choice is a complete and filling meal! Who can eat a dinner for $4 and walk away happy. The tacos are huge and filling even for a hardy eater. I do highly recommend coming out on a Tuesday and supporting the Grill. As a side note, much to my disappointment, they are not open for breakfast, my favorite eating out meal! I'll stay for the tacos any day!

We have gone here a few times out of convenience and then this most recent time was so good, I just had to give them a nice review. After a few hurdles way back, the service the last couple of years has greatly improved. The food, up until recently was just okay, nothing special. This last time was really, REALLY good and we are so thrilled to have them so close by. For starters, we had Supreme nachos topped with chili. We probably should have stopped there because it was huge and very good. For dinner, I had the Bubba burger, which is a very great quality beef burger topped with cheddar cheese, onion rings and barbecue sauce. My husband had the Southwest burger with jack cheese, green cheese and chipotle mayo. Both came with sides. We both chose potato chips which are made in-house. My son had a kid cheeseburger, which was standard but a decent enough value for what he got. The prices were really not bad, considering the quality. As far as the atmosphere goes, there is a video game area on one side for the kids and on the opposite side of the restaurant, is a bar, pool table, juke box. Usually it is not at all crowded, which is good for us, since we tend to veer towards mellower environments but I really want to see this place thrive more. From previous experience, the pizza is always good. I am glad for the positive changes in the kitchen to go with the good service. If I didn't already live in the area, I'd definitely make the trip up here.

I've been going to this place since we moved here. They are awesome. We usually go here on Thursday HH nights to watch the game. Well new way of life.! We here to Support our Small businesses.

I've read the previous reviews and I just don't see why they are getting bad reviews. The Village Grill is in the middle of Cold Springs. Just head north until you're almost in California. STOP! Get off the freeway in Nevada, make a right turn and follow the speed limit down to 25. You're almost there. There is plenty of parking and if you get there when it's not busy, you will receive good service. That's been my experience and it should be yours as well. On tap, I and my wonderful girl enjoyed a Firestone 805 Blonde. In fact, we, a party of 5, all received our drinks within a very reasonable amount of time. Since it was burger night, we ordered... BURGERS! I was expecting, after reviewing the previous Yelp entries that we would be waiting 30 minutes to an hour! After a grueling 10 minutes, the burgers came out! The Bubba Burger(s and the Bleu Burger. We even ordered a child's burger! I'd have to say, service was very good! Maybe it's a hit miss thing. We've been fortunate enough to get the days with good service and always good tasty food. Medium burgers are pink in the center. So, if you want a medium well burger, you had better specifically request it. Bottom Line We have never experienced anything like the other reviews stated they experienced. Granted, we don't have wild kids that run around the restaurant, nor was I expecting the bar area to remain open past a reasonable dining hour. I was expecting decent to good service, decent to good food and that's what we received. WARNING: The burgers are messy! I liked it! :
