Deep Blue - Reading

Super Chippy! We had a pretty big order, due to the order for the team at work, these guys treated it wonderfully. They did it in time and fulfilled our request. Would definitely recommend another visit... well done guys!!

Despite Deliveroo delivered an hour later than expected, the app gave me a constant update when the new delivery time will be. I ordered the meal deal for one and an extra Jumbo Saveloy sausage. The dough from the fish was still very crispy, but the chips were slightly cold! But it was easily fixed by heating in the oven for 5 minutes or so. The curry sauce was very lumpy, but tasted ok and was full of MSG. After I said all this, I would order Deep Blue again, as I really enjoyed it for my work.

Excellent fish and chips, very delicious! Delivered to Hotelpiping hot on time and very well packed! Ordered a few times at work. Second order was also good, but let yourself, as fish bite very over cooked and burned was hope they were consistent. But generally very cheap!

The broken cod is more like soggy broken cod, it is so delicate at the bottom of the fish that it actually sets you off your dinner. After spending £35 for a family of 4, I am disgusting how terrible the food was! That happened before with them, we thought we would give them a second chance, as was great in the past. Needless to say, we will not be back!

This is more about the service. Front of house excellent as usual. The Old Man Cook however, different story. Ordered chips, chicken mushroom pie and a veggie burger. Only to have the cook shout with a disgusting attitude towards my wife “You know it’s not veggie, right? It’s cooked in the same oil as everything else”. There is a right way to let a customer know and the wrong way. He definitely got the wrong way right! So, cancelled the entire order with Mr Old Man Cook shaking his head at us. Front of house telling us they don’t blame us for cancelling the order and they were really sorry about his behaviour. Told Mr Old Man Cook to adjust his attitude and left. Being our local fish chip shop (literally 3 minutes away) and ordering on Uber Eat most the time. One of those rare occasions where popping in seemed a good idea, this experience was ruined by such a disgusting old grumpy man’s attitude because of what? Can’t hack being a little busy? Lost a loyal customer and to the man with the blue Volvo parked outside, thank you for understanding the frustration and also standing by us with Deep Blue Basingstoke Road, Reading losing your business too! And to everyone who was in the shop when this happened, thank you for nods of disapproval against his attitude towards my wife! Shame on you old man!
