Bidrage med feedbackBeen here about half dozen times although not recently. Was disappointed potato cake no longer available. The service seemed chaotic and our orders were misinterpreted by our server. Our eggs were all overcooked but the Pancakes were really fabulous. Our coffees were perfect.I think it was definitely over priced even for eastern suburbs. The noise levels were unacceptable.
Coming back to a former taste experience can be exhilarating or flatly disappointing. However, in this case it is joy. I am down the beach early and post swimming smashed Avo and gravlax are on the tip of my tongue's request list. A lucky turn of events allowed for a splendid surf and a lunchtime return for the smoked trout salad, with poached egg, crisp capers, killer tats and poppy aioli has the femme salivating, although as she manages to bite ravenously into the fried chook burger with red slaw and spicy aioli, I don't hear any convivial banter.
The food here although not cheap, is simple clean quality. The staff are run off their feet, but pull it off. Coffee ain't bad either.
A friend and I have been coming here regularly for years after our weekly walk around Centennial Park. It's our treat at the end of the walk. The food is consistently good. Usually I have the scrambled eggs and my friend enjoys the porridge. Occasionally I branch out and have tried the gravalax, caper and parsley salad which is sensational as are the potato cakes with gravalax, poached egg, avocado and herb aioli. Then there are always beautiful homemade muffins on the counter to tempt you and the coffees and fresh juices are seriously good.
This is a cafe which does good food and lovely fresh juices. It looked popular but not too busy when we had some lunch.Service was welcoming. It did seem a little slow to get our order taken but I get the impression this is not typical. Something for the cafe to bear in mind when there is so much competition for business.Food was pretty good. Reasonable value.Worth a look at the specials menu, too.
