Watkins Grill - Raleigh

Really friendly service, good food and very reasonably priced. Sign says they have been open since 1947 and you can see why; the place has a real home cooking feel all around. Cash or check only so don't count on using the debit card! If you're in the area, stop by. You will not be disappointed!

First time ever eating at this place and the overall experience was wonderful. The food reminded me of home and it was a pleasure to see the other patrons enjoying themselves as well and the interaction with the staff. I look forward to future visits.

Cute, hole-in-the-wall little breakfast and lunch spot just north of Raleigh. The staff was sweet and attentive. They have a large menu with daily specials that haven't changed in years according to the sweet old man sitting new to me (He comes in every Tuesday). The food was better than a chain, but pretty much what one would expect. That being said the prices are very fair. Also, they only accept cash and CashApp for payment.

Great service, sizeable portions, all the people were kind. Was recommend this place as a hole in the wall kind of joint, and I tend to enjoy those. I would have here, except for the off-putting nature of the décor; CSA memorabilia lines the walls, and one begins to wonder if the delicious biscuit and gravy was made by someone who holds the beliefs of that onerous group close to their heart. Honestly, the longer I sat there and enjoyed my eggs and mulled over the delicious coffee, the more I thought this was not somewhere that I ought to be, and it somewhere that I ought not visit again. No matter how good the food, I simply cannot knowingly go back there and spend my money at a place that glorifies it in any fashion. It cannot be entrenched in the food, the service, or the portion sizes, so why put that on display? I guess I am not the customer they want. It 's a shame, I 'm always after a great breakfast spot. I 'll keep looking then.

I’ve been in Raleigh 10yrs and can’t believe I’m just finding this place. Staff super friendly. Food was absolutely delicious. Got the hamburger steak w/mash Corn. Will definitely be back.
