Bidrage med feedbackAfter arriving late to our accommodations in Quebec City and sleeping in, we decided to go for a midday walk to find a place to eat. That's when we stumbled upon Le Veau D'or. We were greeted quickly and ordered from the lunch menu. The food is made fresh to order, and soup is included with your meal. We all decided to try the vegetable soup and were pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. Our entrées were also very tasty, and everyone cleaned their plates. We were very pleased with our experience at Le Veau D'or and glad we found it.
We stumbled upon this restaurant on Av St Jean just outside the walled city. We were promptly seated in a moderately busy restaurant. The service was excellent, and they were very accommodating to our requested changes. We ordered the veal medallions and stuffed sole, both of which were delicious with generous portions. The included soup was a nice bonus. The house white wine was also very enjoyable. Overall, the food was fantastic and offered great value.
The old-fashioned restaurant had a nice atmosphere and a pleasant waitress. The menu had a good variety of options to choose from. We ordered the fillet mignon and calves liver, both of which were cooked extremely well. The salad and vegetables were nicely cooked and paired well with the main dishes. The only issue was the lumpy mashed potatoes.
After a full day traveling we came across the restaurant as we were walking the area near our hotel. It had a quaint appealing atmosphere. We were a party of and were seated promptly with only a few tables full. The other patrons were...all French speaking and seemed familiar with the place. We took this as an encouraging sign of good food to come. Two of us had the dinner specials. The noodle and vegetable soup was tasty and filled with fresh firm veggies. It was good. My husband had the spaghetti bolognaise which was a large portion and he thought it was very good. I had the pork medallions with a fresh salad smashed potatoes and vegetables. It was very good.the meal was completed with crepe brûlée and sugar pie for a cost of for pasta and for the pork. A great meals for incredible price. Our friends had haddock with smashed potatoes, veggies, salad and pea soup. He was very happy with his meal. He felt the fish was very fresh and well seasoned . The person had gnocchi and enjoyed it. She felt the pasta was very fresh. It was a wonderful ending to our first day. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. When we left there at the place was full
