Kin Southern Table - Providence

Thanks to RI Food Fights we found this place. Great cornbread, and honey garlic wings! The atmosphere was awesome, since there was a live saxophone performance. The service felt like everyone in the place knew you for years, and the food was very good.

The ambiance and decor was nice and the concept is great. The food was mostly disappointing.....the salmon was not flavorful, the greens were bland and the Mac and cheese was dry. The wings were saucy and delicious and so were the candied yams. My drink was good, but my fiancée drink had to be made over because it was bitter....our server was nice and attentive. Overall, this restaurant could do so much better. Lastly, they were promoting music later that evening (Saturday) starting at 9 or 10, but when we attempted to give this place another chance, it was an epic fail because they were not even open.

Chicken and Waffles were amazing. Other than that, a little lackluster. Atmosphere was cold and not the cozy welcoming environment you'd expect from a southern table, although the staff was friendly. Homefries were cold.

The service was exceptional, the food burst with flavor, and the comfortable environment made the experience memorable. Highly recommend!

LOL. I’ve really hesitated with this review in consideration of it being a Black business and very kind staff but NO. This is restaurant is just not it! I’ve gone there numerous times since the opening (both dine in and take out) and it seems like it’s just get worst every time. I refuse to elaborate as I mention again that it’s a BLACK business but it’s super over hyped for unfortunately no reason! : NO!
