Bidrage med feedbackWhen it comes to Seafood, Joeys is where my husband and I like to go The food is always good, and tonight was no exception.
JOEY'S SEAFOOD_ Welcome, the leader said "This is a closed meeting.
Although it was $65.00 for 2 people to share a starter and each have an entree it was pretty good.Always consistent! We shared the calamari starter which was a lot smaller than the last time I was there, a little overcooked but yummy. And we each had the seafood platter with popcorn shrimp, 2 pieces of Atlantic pollock fish and fries, coleslaw and a side of gravy. It was satisfying even if my boyfriend thinks it was from a box!My fish was crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. Yummy.Very expensive for a lunch though, but nowhere else around has seafood worth eating in Prince George, unless you want to cook it yourself or feel like sushi. So this place is a satisfying dose of delicious fresh seafood. Clams, scallops, snapper, oysters, and fish. And the little Joey's only fish reminds me of my childhood, so it's a place I enjoy dining with anyone.
I went to Joeys feeling two contrary urges; one for fish and chips, the other for vegetables. I had had some chips with lunch so the diet-guilt was running against another serving. Long story short, after a discussion about my problem with my server, I wound up ordering two pieces of fish (yes fried) with a salad and a nice side of broccoli, which happens to be a favourite of mine. When it came, it was delicious, fresh, and satisfying.
"Is this one of the best meals you've ever had in a restaurant?"...actually, yeah. Everywhere I go with fish tacos on the menu, I order them and then mentally compare my findings. I LOVE fish tacos. I've had good fish tacos and bad fish tacos. Some have been medicore, some have had exotic salsas that had no business being there. Sometimes I wake late at night and shoot up in bed, craving them, racking my brain to figure out the day of the week and how long I have to wait to go to Joey's again. Then when I get there I eat so many that I can't move and it's delightful.
